Hi, I’m Rohan Prabhakar. I’m a frontend engineer passionate about interface design and web experiences. I reside in Bengaluru City with my wife prachi.

I’ve spent the last 10 years turning ideas into fast, scalable, user-facing products — and I’m still as obsessed with the craft as I was on day one.

Right now I’m a Staff Engineer at Sony Pictures Networks India, leading frontend for SonyLIV. It’s the kind of role that keeps you sharp — shipping under tight deadlines, holding performance at 3–5M concurrent users during live cricket, and making sure a cross-functional team of engineers is aligned and moving fast.

Lately I’ve been leaning into AI-assisted development — Claude Code and AWS Kiro have changed how I approach spec-driven work, and I’m genuinely excited about where this takes frontend engineering.

    Software Development Engineer III ShopSe Digital Finance

    As Frontend Lead, I manage a team of 8 engineers and supervise the whole development process for both the ShopSe website and mobile application. This includes addressing day-to-day requirements as well as assuring complete implementation. In addition, I constantly work to enhance and expand our own UI Library for web and mobile components, making its features more user-friendly.

    Responsible for the entire development of our internal Dashboards, building dashboards specifically for merchants, and brands. These platforms include time-saving automations that reduce the manual labour for operational teams while streamlining everyday operations and greatly improving user experience.

    Implemented a comprehensive end-to-end digital loan process, transitioning to a paperless system. This initiative successfully disbursed over 8,000 loans through ShopSe mobile app.

    Worked closely with the information security team to guarantee PCI DSS compliance. Implemented critical security changes and recommendations for ShopSe mobile application.

    Developed an npm library for streamlined one-login access, seamlessly integrating it across various tools within ShopSe. This unified login system empowers ShopSe employees and merchants to easily access dashboards and internal tools.

    Additionally, I’m dedicated to mentoring frontend engineers, fostering skill development through impactful guidance, comprehensive code reviews, and a culture of knowledge sharing, contributing to a high-performing team dynamic.

  • 2021 - 2022
    Senior Frontend Engineer Relevel by Unacademy

    Developed a full cohort-based learning experience with Next.js to provide students with real-time coaching and assistance. Ultimately, this became Relevel’s first source of revenue.

    Reduced page load time from 5 seconds to less than 2 seconds, resulting in a 20% increase in conversion rate and a 50% increase in lead funnel. This aided in potentially increasing revenue by 2.7X in 30 days.

    Created a proctoring audit platform powered by AI and ML using React and Redux to help the test operations team be more efficient and productive during the Qualification Audit. Which will result in a yearly savings of 1.2 crores.

    Using Storyblok, Implemented a content management system for marketing pages to make content creation without relying on technical teams, This implementation empowered marketing teams to independently produce and update content.
